Optimal speed remains the main highlight of Life & Health Insurance Exam. VirtuePrep delivers the ultimate system for APPzone fans. Find extra details via Education.
Most people don't fail the life and health insurance exam on the material they studied hardest. They fail on policy provisions and state regulations, the near-identical definitions that all blur together about four hours into studying. HMO, PPO, fee-for-service, prepaid. This app is built to find that gap before the testing centre does.
1,350+ practice questions across every topic on the exam, timed mock tests, and an AI tutor that will re-explain any answer until it sticks.
The tutor is the part that's different
Get a question wrong and you get a written explanation. Every prep app does that. What happens next is the difference: tap the tutor and pick how you want it explained. Simple. Step by step. Memory hook. Why I was wrong. Four angles on the same concept, and one of them usually lands. Or type your own question and ask it directly.
For an exam this heavy on memorised definitions, "give me a memory hook for this" turns out to be the button people press most.
What's inside
Topics covered
Basics of Life Insurance, Life Insurance Policy Provisions, Life Insurance Riders, Annuities, Basics of Health Insurance, Other Health Plans, Disability Income Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, Underwriting, General Insurance, State Law and Regulations, and Ethics.
It tells you where to study, in words
Open Progress and your topics are ordered by where improvement would move your score most, not alphabetically and not by whatever you touched last. Underneath the list it says the thing outright: "Start with Disability Income Insurance, it has the most room left." No dashboard reading required.
Questions we get asked
How many questions is the real exam? Between 100 and 150 depending on your state, in two to three hours. Most states pass you at 70%; California passes at 60%. Roughly 55 to 65% of first-time candidates pass.
Which topics do people fail on? State law and policy provisions, almost every time. Both are in the bank, and both usually sit near the top of your Progress list for a while.
I'm retaking. Where do I start? Build exam, choose "Questions I missed", and work that list until it empties. Retake pass rates are lower than first-attempt rates, and the reason is almost always that people restart the whole bank instead of attacking what they already got wrong.
Does it work without signal? Yes, once the bank has downloaded.
Who uses it
Candidates sitting the state life and health producer licensing exam through Pearson VUE, PSI or Prometric, first-timers and retakers alike. Agencies use it for new-hire training, and licensed life agents use it when adding a health line.
Free to start. Premium unlocks the full bank, timed mock exams and flashcards. Pricing is shown in the app before you buy.
